I have been playing Bastion a lot lately, is a really good and beautiful game. this pic is in memory of my squirt and my pecker who gave their life trying to protect the bastion...I wasn't fast enough to save them
"I dig my hole you build a wall, one day that wall is gonna fall... Come build that city on a hill, one day those tears are gonna spill... So build that wall and build it strong cause' we'll be there before long... Come build that wall up to the sky, some day your bird is gonna fly... Come build that wall until it's done, but now you've got nowhere to go.." ~Zia
Love this game, love that song, love everything about this picture. That's my review.
Bastion. One of the most beautiful games I have ever played. The narration, the art, the music... I can't remember what pets lost their lives that day, but I do remember how I felt when they died. The ending brought a tear to my eye, and that's saying a LOT, because it is hard for me to cry(I cried a river when I read My Little Dashie, and ever since then I can't cry at anything anymore, lol)
First time through, I lost my baby pecker... I wasn't expecting the game to go and invoke Nuzlocke, the God of Mortality and Reason, to put it one way. From what I heard, that poor bird is the hardest pet to keep alive during that segment. I'll admit that while I felt bad of course, I wasn't nearly as attached to it as I was to the squirt. But on the other hand, it made this one tiny scene at the very end more sad than usual.
Y'know, the one where The Kid mentions how everyone he fought seemed to be struggling just to survive... presenting that pecker's egg of all things while saying so...
Everyone survived during my second run. I hope that can be the case for every run in the future... But as far as I'm concerned, the first run was the one that counted the most (especially since I... No, wait, I don't wanna spoil that part). Rest in Peace, brave little bird...
