I love this picture, it's so mystical!
I think this could be a picture of Luna on the day, she decided not to lower the moon anymore and became Nightmare Moon.
Because it looks like she has averted her head from something which hurt's her to see, maybe after she discovered that the ponies are sleeping during her nights and not enjoying them like the days of Princess Celestia, and looks kinda sad on this picture.

We listened to Hijo de la Luna in Spanish Literature class today. Then I remembered seeing this drawing a while ago and came back to see if it was related to that song. I read the description and...it was! :D

Beautiful artwork to go with a beautiful song. But I'm still wondering...you do speak Spanish, don't you?
